My dear bud Matty, aka @yo_matty, is one of the best photographers to follow. He gets the most beautiful and varied shots of New York City --- especially enhanced by his insane office view that he documents on an almost-daily basis --- and his Instagram images are now available as canvas prints via Instacanv.as! Prints start at $39.95. These featured here are some of his recent ones, but you should definitely check out his full gallery, so many good ones in there.

funniest tumblr : #whatshouldwecallme

"When we and my best friend see two open seats at the bar"

I laugh out loud at this Tumblr feed #whatshouldwecallme on a very regular basis. She writes captions to various animated gifs.

"When I went apartment hunting in New York"

"When the person I've been arguing with makes a valid point"

"When I go over to my friends apartment and don't see any food"

"Getting out of bed on a Monday"

"When people walk really slow in front of me"

"When I try to get off the internet, but some website sucks me back in"

bryn listens : radiolab

Most of my pals know I'm a podcast junkie. One of my all-time favorites is Radiolab, which many of you are probably familiar with. If not, you should definitely check it out. It's on public radio stations across the country or available as a podcast through iTunes or streaming from the Radiolab site. It will provide you with an endless supply of some of the most fascinating information in the realm of science, philosophy, and human experience, while keeping your attention rapt the entire way through. It makes me happy, laugh, contemplate, shudder and zing. And then I go off and talk incessantly about it.

Here's a recent episode that -- oh how typical -- blew my mind.

great day : at wedding crashers 2012

Yesterday was Brooklyn Based's annual Wedding Crashers fair, held at The Green Building, a beautiful old industrial space on the Gowanus Canal. Here are a few snapshots of the Paperfinger table.

Paperfinger was alongside a great group of wedding vendors and when we weren't too busy chatting, we got to sample some amazing eats from all the incredible catering companies represented -- Naturally Delicious, herb-n-peach, Shelsky’s Smoked Fish, Mile End, Marlow & Sons Events, The Meat Hook. For sweets, we enjoyed yummy treats from One Girl Cookies, Bee’s Knees Baking Co., and COOLHAUS.

Our table neighbor, Fox Fodder Farm, creates beautiful floral garlands and arrangements. And By Brooklyn was there with some great welcome-favor sets. Also great to see our friends from Lion in the Sun. We met lots of friendly Brooklyn couples -- all in all a good event and a non-stop day. Time to collapse. :)

this week : on instagram

My photos on Instagram never make it to the blog, so I'm going to start posting some weekly. Instagram is so much fun and one of the most uplifting forms of social media.

Above, the koi fish at the Greenwood Cemetery. Such an incredible place.

Below, The perfect set of gifts Margaret gave me for my birthday.

An astounding fact from my book, The Tiger, by John Vaillant.

Envelopes drying.

An invitation I designed that was engraved, and now I'm adding each guest's name, calligraphed on the blank line. 'Sup.

finish every day : and be done with it

“Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; Some blunders and absurdities crept in; Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

- Ralph Waldo Emerson (Image and quote via the great Quote Vadis blog, check it out.)

paperfinger studio tour : by wedding lovely

Tracy, of Wedding Lovely and Wedding Invite Love, came by last week for a visit at the Paperfinger studio. She snapped a few photos and hung out for a little while -- it was great to hear about all the good developments on her end and to chat paper, calligraphy and invites...

She posted the studio tour on Wedding Lovely yesterday -- check out the post here and I've included some of her photos. Thanks Tracy!
