My email response to the good friend who sent me information about Erie Basin was a sentence involving the word "drool."

Erie Basin is owned by antique dealer and collector, Russell Whitmore. His shop is located on Van Brunt street in Red Hook, Brooklyn and a select inventory is available online for purchase.

I haven't had a chance to visit his storefront yet, but perusing his virtual one alone has been magnificent. The stock is mostly antique but there are a few pieces from contemporary designers, such as Conroy + Wilcox who designed the ring ($1570) pictured above, made from 18k Gold and Tumble Cut 5 Carat prasiolite (which I had to look up).
