a paperfinger menu : for a home state plate
I was honored to contribute to and participate in a summer feast in late August, called "Home State Plate." Our hostess, Elizabeth Griffin, is a talented writer and photographer and a good friend. Her goal was to create a meal for a dozen friends with food and drink sourced only from within the boundaries of New York State.
Even the calligraphy was locally grown -- I created the menu pictured above, which was placed at each seat listing the various dishes in one of my hand-drawn styles along with a computer typeface description of the farm and source.
It was a delicious meal and even more rewarding knowing where each element came from. Here I am with a plate full of home state goodies, pictured below:
