tea party in a box : bridal shower invitation by mika78 + paperfinger
You could get a postcard, an evite, heck, maybe even a beautiful printed invitation --- or this wonder could arrive at your doorstep. Mimi Woo, the designer and founder of Mika78 (a divine source for wedding invitation design) contacted me this past spring to work with her on the elements of an invitation she was preparing for her friend's bridal shower.
The vision was an afternoon tea party. Inside the box, each guest found a collection of tea-themed treasures.
The invitation was printed on a tea napkin. I calligraphed the bride's name, which Mimi incorporated into her design.
Mimi also created a fill-in-the-blank form for her guests to complete and bring to the shower as a way to share their stories and love for the bride. The theme of her name in calligraphy continued here as well.
These antique tea cups were my favorite part of the project. It's not every day that I get to inscribe darling little tea cups with quotes and gold inscriptions. Each one was unique, so I had the fun task of choosing how to lay out the words and date on each.
To complete the entire set, each box included a bag of fresh loose leaf tea with custom tea tags -- these also incorporated my calligraphy.
Okay, the deluge of photos is over. But seriously, what a remarkable presentation. Three cheers for Mimi. (And check out her fab blog.)
And check out the 100 Layer Cake post, that includes a little treasure for you too.
