leandro erlich : dalston house

Screen Shot 2013-07-01 at 10.57.36 PM Artist Leandro Erlich created Dalston House, as an off-site exhibit for the Barbican Gallery of London. This old Victorian house front is reflected into a life-size mirror so that visitors can project themselves on the face of the building while lying on the ground.

From the artist:

“The installation is composed by the reproduction of a building facade lying flat on the ground and a large mirror placed in a 45-degree angle. The reflection creates the illusion of seeing the facade vertically. The public is invited to step on the facade, giving the impression of defying gravity.”

Super fantastic fun! Open until August 4. 1-7 Ashwin Street, Dalston, E8 3DL.
