grounds for sculpture : hamilton new jersey
I spent a day at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ (an hour's ride from Penn Station) this past weekend. Such an exciting discovery! I really enjoyed it.
It was founded in 1992 by American artist, John Seward Johnson II on the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds site. His work is prominent throughout, but there's also a wide variety of artists with work exhibited. Wandering through the gardens is a thrill as you stumble upon sculptures in little nooks and clearings. The gardens are beautiful as well -- the trees there are worth visiting in and of themselves.
Had an impossible time choosing which photos to post. So yeah, I posted a-million.
